If you'd rather not race/didn't have time to put a craft together this year, but have a volunteering bone in your body & some free time next weekend, WE NEED HELP. We don't have enough volunteers to manage all the teams & crowds during the activities on Friday & Saturday, and our main volunteer recruiter had to bow out yesterday due to family medical issues. We need various kinds of workers for varying lengths of time: strong guys to move big stuff around, detailed people to help with paperwork, handy people to set up sound equipment, fast people to be runners between different checkpoints, people wearing sunscreen to take tickets & direct traffic (perfect for a Scout troop or service organization), etc. I could even use a baby-helper to juggle a 1-year-old, since I haven't found someone to babysit her yet. Volunteers get free parking/entry to the event & a T-shirt at least, I'm working on more rewards. Email catherder@kineticists.org to become a volunteer (and my new best friend).
