While there are many ways around it, sooner or later all good kineticists will want to pedal their way to glory. That usually starts with scavenging parts from old bicycles. Bottom brackets, cranks and pedals, even shifters, head tubes, and rear triangles are useful resources.
So where can an aspiring kineticist get those critical bits cheap free? Craigslist, garage sales and sometimes thrift stores have been suggested. And then there's Dr. Diabolical. Right now I have access to an impressive stream of junked recycled bike-bits. Never a whole bike at once, but always useful bits and pieces. If there's something you need, send me your shopping list. I'll be happy to provide the parts accept your bribe in exchange for obtaining your parts and pieces. You'd be amazed at what a cold 12-pack of Mountain Dew can get you!
Now get to work! You're running out of time!
