Judge Bios
Engineering: Bob Arentz-As a long-time Rocket Scientist, Robert is eminently qualified to judge this highly technical aspect of the Kinetic Sculpture race. He has worked on diverse projects which map the cosmos for traces of the big bang, discover new planets, and measure abstruse properties of exotic matter.
Costumes: Erica Young- BIO pending.
Style: Danice Crawford, Nikola Halse, Kate Moreland, & Paul Blakenau –
Danice Crawford is trying to maintain a low profile while simultaneously becoming a local sensation. She can be found on the board of Marisol Imports, The Upstart Crow Theatre Company, the NOBO Visual Arts District & the FLIC independent film series & variety show. She is also a painter, filmmaker & political activist. She is enjoying her first year working with the Boulder International Fringe Festival and becoming a licensed Colorado Spanish, History & Civics teacher.
Nikola Halse enjoys sitting around doing absolutely nothing. When not busy with this, she does theatre (singing, acting, dancing and directing), crafts, skiing, hiking and being a marshal at the British Grand Prix. She is very good at delegation and loves to organize events and weddings. She loves watching all sports that don't stop for commercials, especially Formula 1 and rugby. She has a professional background in research in economic and social development.
Founder of Harvard University, Paul Blankenau has won Nobel prizes in medicine, physics and literature. In 2009, he won the Kinetics Challenge. This latter honor so outshines the previous ones that the Kinetics trophy is the only one on his mantel. The rest now sit at his parents' house.
Kate Moreland – Bio pending.
Sculpture: Jack Haggerty
Jack has been a resident of Boulder county for 35 years. He has been a marble sculptor for the last 10 years. In a past life, he might have had a 2nd cousin, who might have had an old school mate, that might have had a friend, that might have been in Florence on the day when Michelangelo might have dedicated the "David". This supposed event is his soul source of inspiration for all his work. His wife thinks perhaps he is a little unstable, so please humor him.
